Junior Sailing Mission
The mission of the Toms River Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program is to develop knowledgeable
youth sailors and to instill in them a love for the sport of sailing that will serve as a foundation
for the future of our club.

Program Goals
The primary goals of the TRYC Junior Sailing program are:
Develop sportsmanship, integrity, and interpersonal skills.
Instill in students an admiration for sailing.
Develop a respect for the sea and the elements.
Learn and incorporate safety and seamanship.
Instill responsibility for boats and equipment.
Create a fun atmosphere in which students want to participate.
Provide the environment and education for those who want to compete and those who do not.
Program Hours
Program runs for eight (8) consecutive weeks in the summer.
Monday - Thursday: 9 AM - 3 PM
Friday: 9 AM - 12 PM

TRYC offers instruction in three different boat classes:
Optimist
Laser
